Orlando Christmas Light Installation Starts With the House Type
Orlando does not have one kind of neighborhood. The same mailing address covers historic brick streets, porch-lined blocks built on a former Navy base, and gated golf communities. Each asks something different of a holiday display, starting with how the strands attach and where people see them from.
- Historic districts downtownMany homes around Lake Cherokee, Lake Eola Heights and Delaney Park still have original wood trim. Clips carry every strand, so nothing is nailed or stapled into it.
- Baldwin Park porchesMost garages open onto a rear alley, so the front porch is the face of the house. Columns, rails and the eave above the porch carry the display.
- Lake Nona two-storiesMany homes in Laureate Park and newer Lake Nona neighborhoods rise two stories. Upper eaves and stacked gables need access planned at the walkthrough, not on install day.
- Golf and lake lotsGolf frontage and lots on the Sand Lake and Butler chains mean a second view. Each elevation gets its own line on the itemized estimate.
Seen on Foot or Seen From the Car
Thornton Park and Baldwin Park are walking neighborhoods, so a display is judged from a few steps away, where every clip and uneven gap shows. In Bay Hill and Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, the house is often seen across a deep lawn from the street. The layout is drawn for that distance.

From the Gable Peak to the Front Walk
Start at the highest line of the house and work down. Gables and eaves give the outline, trees and palms give depth, and the entry is where guests actually stop. On an Orlando lot that often means a live oak in the front yard and, on newer streets, a row of palms along the drive.
- Gables, dormers and eave lines
- Porch columns and railings
- Live oak trunks and limbs
- Palm trunks lining the drive
- Wreaths and garland at the door
- Hedges, beds and walkway edges
- Balcony rails on second stories
- Rear elevations facing water or golf
When the House Is Already Lit at Night
If your Orlando home already has landscape lighting, the Christmas display goes up over an existing night scene: uplights on the facade, path lights along the walk, perhaps moonlighting in the oaks. The two should agree. Warm white strands over warm landscape fixtures read as one design, while a cold white roofline over the same house looks like a second contractor's work. We review the display with you after sunset and correct anything that competes. Planning both? Our year-round outdoor lighting in Orlando comes from the same team.

One Crew, First Walk to Last Clip
Walk the property
We note the roof surface, the trees, the entry and each elevation, plus any gate or alley access.
Design and price
You get a plan and an itemized price. Add or drop a tree or a rear elevation before a date is booked.
Install and review
The crew installs it, you walk it together after sunset, and anything uneven or too bright gets reset.
Remove and store
In January every strand and clip comes down, and the display waits in our storage for next season.

Where We Hang Christmas Lights Across Orlando
Crews come down from our Lake Mary shop to homes across Orlando, from Edgewater Drive in College Park and the streets around Lake Baldwin to the gated communities off Sand Lake Road in Dr. Phillips and the neighborhoods of Lake Nona. HOA entrances and common areas are on the route too. For the full service and our other cities, see Christmas light installation across Central Florida.

Common Questions Before the First Strand Goes Up
Will clips harm the original trim on a Lake Cherokee home?
No. Strands hang on clips sized to the surface they sit on, never nails or staples, and every clip comes off in January, so the trim looks the way it did before.
What gets lit on a Baldwin Park porch-front home?
Usually the porch and the eave above it, since that is the side neighbors walk past. Columns and rails can take wraps or garland. The alley elevation is optional and priced as its own line.
Do you install Christmas lights in Lake Nona and Dr. Phillips?
Yes. Both are inside our Orlando service area, as are Bay Hill, Baldwin Park, College Park and the historic neighborhoods around Lake Eola. Crews work out of our Lake Mary shop.
Does a two-story home cost more to light?
Often, yes. Height changes how the upper eaves are reached, so it is one factor in the price, along with total roofline length and how many trees are wrapped. Each appears on the itemized estimate.
How do visits work in Vizcaya or Lake Nona Golf & Country Club?
Give us the gate or vendor procedure when you book, plus any holiday rules from your association. Each date, from the consultation through January takedown, is agreed with you in advance.
Can we choose warm white instead of multicolor?
Yes. Warm white, classic multicolor and two-color schemes like red and white are all possible. Whichever you choose, the bulbs are matched across the display, so no section reads a shade off.
Will you handle our community's entrance displays too?
Yes. Sloan Lighting Solutions designs, installs, services, removes and stores entrance monument, median and common area displays on one scope, working with the board or property manager.
